VPIRG seeks an energetic, confident, creative leader with a track record of inspiring people and unifying diverse people to work toward a central goal.The VPIRG Climate Campaign Manager role is a strategic organizing position that – when successful – builds an unstoppable movement and model for bold, equitable climate action commensurate with the challenge of the climate crisis and that can be replicated elsewhere.
Major elements of the position include:
- Drafting and refinement of a campaign plan.
- Message development and branding
- Coalition building and management
- Scheduling and event coordination
- Oral, written, and social media communications with activists, the press, the public, and policymakers
Qualifications: Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills, 3+ years relevant experience on a communications or campaign role, and a passion for climate action. Experience in grassroots organizing and media relations a plus. Creativity and flexibility are essential. Climate and clean energy expertise can be developed. Ability to travel (within state) and work evening/weekend hours as needed. Committed to put diversity, equity, and inclusion at the center of climate policy. Compensation: Starting salary range between $50,000-$60,000, and our benefits package is amazing, making total compensation package equivalent to $65,000-$85,000 annual salary. Benefits include: 100% employer-paid health insurance plan plus a fund to cover out of pocket expenses; employer-matching IRA contributions or student loan repayment of up to 3% of salary; 20 vacation and 15 personal days annually accrued and 13 paid holidays. Moving stipend of $2,500 available.
